The Battler Story
Battler brand came into the market nearly 20 years ago and was conceptualized to the ‘Gentle Giant’- the Elephant of Sri Lanka symbolizing its calmness of character and inner strength, unifying it with the range of teas to show its strength and unique characteristics.
Battler is renowned, and a well-known household name, and is proudly identified with the Elephant in its packaging. The taste narrates the flavors of the different regions of Ceylon tea, unique in its taste and the cup color.
All components of these blends are specially selected for their color, and strong brew with a pleasant malty taste, taking milk well. There are over 80 varieties of Battler brand tea in “loose” form in attractively printed tins and boxes as well as in double chambered tea bags with string and tag with and without outer individual printed envelope cover.
Ceylon Tea
Ceylon tea, renowned for its rich flavor and aromatic brilliance, traces its origins to 1867 when James Taylor planted the first tea estate in Sri Lanka’s hill country. Since then, it has evolved into one of the world’s most celebrated teas, prized for its purity, quality, and diversity of flavor profiles. Grown in distinct regions across the island, each with its unique character, Ceylon tea has earned global recognition and a loyal following. Today, it proudly carries the Lion Logo—symbolizing 100% pure Ceylon tea—and remains a benchmark for excellence in the international tea industry.
